"GPS—Go, Plant, Serve: For years the missions mantra for Southern Baptists has been "pray, give, and go." Praying, giving and going become even more significant when missions partners add the “knowing” component of missions. Many times it determines the difference between simply participating in a missions trip and changing the face of eternity. Missions involvement through international volunteer mission projects provides U.S. partners with a unique opportunity to add this knowing component. The "GPS--Go, Plant, Serve: U.S. Partner Debriefing Handbook" was designed to enhance short-term mission trips by providing a guided learning experience as team members interact in a cross-cultural setting. The GPS Handbook is divided into three sections for daily use. Team members will begin each day with a biblically based devotional reading. Following this devotion, a small section is provided for thoughts and impressions of the day. At the end of each day a debriefing guide will allow teams to weave their real-life missions experience with biblically based missions education. Many volunteers have asked for this resource in the past, and now it is available for your use. We hope that you will take advantage of this resource in your efforts to fulfill the Great Commission.
