SUNDAY, August 17
Thank you very much for praying for the three weeks of World Changers in Barbados during the month of June. God brought 77 people into His Kingdom through salvation, many other lives were impacted, seeds were planted for future harvest, and the participants gave over $3,000 for ministry through International World Changers in South America in 2009!
MONDAY, August 18
Members of the Deaf Church Planting Team will be in Panama August 18–20, in preparation for a project to introduce Bible storying in sign language as a way to evangelize Deaf Panamanians. Lift up the meetings they will have with local leaders, so that the training will be available to those Panamanian Deaf who have a call to share the Gospel with their peers. Ask God to grant visas to the Deaf leaders from the Dominican Republic who will be staffing the project during November, 2008, so that they can share Christ as well as their experiences in Deaf church planting.
TUESDAY, August 19
Pray for the MAC Media and Regional Leadership Teams as they work together to produce the next issue of “Connections,” a newsletter for the region’s retired missionaries. Thank God for these retirees who faithfully served sharing the Gospel, starting churches and training national believers across the MAC Region. Pray that the Lord will use this newsletter to help retired missionaries see how they can continue to be strategically involved with missions mobilization in the region, reaching the lost and planting churches. Ask God to help the “Connections” production team to make wise editorial decisions and to communicate clearly the needs of the region.
WEDNESDAY, August 20
Rain is dripping off the roofs, and in many cases into the homes of the Purepecha people in Mexico. Streets are muddy. For many it is a very depressing time. Stuck in a home that is cold and damp, women have nowhere to go. Many have a strong desire to please Jesus. They try to do this by worshipping their idols during this time. Please pray that missionaries among these people can share with them how to have a personal relationship with Jesus which truly will please Him.
THURSDAY, August 21
The Aukan Team in Suriname praises God for His loving kindness to the Aukan people. Two months ago, a flood left over a thousand families homeless. Christians responded to the flood by giving out food packets to the families. The Aukan people saw God's love and are thankful to God's people for their kindness. Please pray that the people will come to know Christ as their Savior.
FRIDAY, August 22
Tomorrow is DREAM DAY in Querétaro, Mexico! Twenty to thirty Mexican students are invited to Querétaro, Mexico, for a day of prayerful brainstorming. It will be a 24-hour period dedicated to praying that students in Mexico will respond to Christ. As these students pray tomorrow, ask God to reveal His plan for reaching students!
SATURDAY, August 23
For the next week Operation GO will work with Iglesia Bautista El Calvario (Calvary Baptist Church) in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. Calvary is the result of a pilot Operation GO project seven years ago, and even though the church is still small, it has already begun another church. This week’s project is in an area about halfway between the church and the church plant where there is no Baptist church. The U.S. partner team is coming from First Baptist Church, Higginsville, Missouri. Please pray for all the Gospel seeds which will be planted by this team as they claim God’s promise “. . .so My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and will prosper in what I send it to do” (HCSB).
